Oh boy, we’re in trouble now!
April 26, 2009Forget Mommy!; Hands ‘n’ knees; Easter; Grandma Vicki; Don’t worry guys, I’ll just feed myself
April 14, 2009Forget Mommy!
When we went to pick up Mylo from the daycare last Thursday, we both went in. Mylo was on the floor and saw us coming. I leaned down to pick him up and he didn’t even look at me! He crawled right around me and crawled right up Chris’s leg!
Hands ‘n’ knees
Mylo is finally taking some time off his belly, and spending a little more on his hands and knees. He’s been technically crawling for two months now, but it’s gratifying to see him up! The sad part is that if he keeps it up, I’ll have to clean my own floors!
Easter
Mylo experienced his first Easter scavenger hunt this year. The hunt spanned almost a square half-mile area. He spent the entire egg hunt with his mouth wide open and his hands flexed like claws. He had no idea what to think of the entire thing, but true to form, he was a little trooper and hung in there for almost all of it! I gave up before he did! He took a really good nap that afternoon.
Grandma Vicki
Grandma Vicki came on Friday evening, and stayed through Monday morning. He showed her how to eat finger foods, how to fall asleep on daddy, and how an empty egg carton is way more fun than any toy. Mylo had a ton of fun playing with her and posing for all those pictures!
Don’t worry guys, I’ll just feed myself
Mylo woke up this morning at 5:48 with a dirty diaper and was ready to go. He crawled and played; he loved on Daddy, but then he got really fussy! We were in the middle of trying to figure out what was wrong when he crawled right over to his open diaper bag; he grabbed a bottle full of formula powder and tried to figure out how to feed himself! Apparently Mommy and Daddy were a little too slow on the uptake.
Sick baby
April 4, 2009Mylo was sent home from daycare on Thursday—Kathy said that he wouldn’t nap, and would give a very distressed cry when she would lay him down. She said she thought he might have an ear infection, and that she wanted to send him home in time to get to the doc. Sometimes she’s a little dramatic, so I didn’t think much of it. When I got to the daycare he seemed fine, but tired. I would have just taken him home, but he pulled on an ear, and she was persistent that he might have an ear infection.
I called the doc on a whim and got the last appointment of the day with his regular doctor. Dr. Shearer looked at his throat, looked at his ears, and then announced that both ears were infected. Less than a week after Chris was started on Amoxycillin for his double ear infection, Mylo was started on the same thing…except Mylo gets the bubble gum flavor!
He’s doing well today, and likes this medication much more than the Septra suspensions. Mylo has been in good spirits; he’s pulling himself up on things and bonking his head, exploring, and pulling blankets over his head so he can pop out when I ask, “Mylo, where did you go?” Somehow we lucked out with a kid who’s a happy camper even when he hurts.
