Saturday, I had to tell Mylo to take a chill pill so I could fold the laundry. I sat him down with Na-nee (the bear) and ten minutes later, he was out! When I noticed, I woke him up a little and told him he could lay down. He did, with his feet hanging off the edge of the couch. Sometimes, you just need a nap, I guess!

April 10, 2010Chris: (pretending to snore on Mylo’s bedroom floor)
Holli: Uh-oh Mylo, I think Daddy fell asleep!
Mylo: Yeah.
Holli: What do we do when someone goes night-night?
Mylo: (proceeds to get four blankets from his bed and cover Daddy up)
Holli: What else do we do?
Mylo: (gives Daddy a kiss on the bottom)
Holli: On Daddy’s bottom? Eeew!
Mylo: (gave me a funny look, then moved on to plant a wet one on Daddy’s face)
Chris: (laughing)
Holli: Uh-oh, I think Daddy’s not going to stay in bed; what happens when you don’t stay in bed?
Mylo: (gave me another funny look, and then grinned, then he straddled Chris’s back, and bounced hard a few times)
We cracked up. Obviously we don’t sit on Mylo when he gets out of bed at night (we just go put him back quietly), but it’s amazing to be able to watch his thought process happen. He mimicked most of the bedtime routine accurately, and when he got bored, he just jumped on Chris. He’s a boy!
Mylo: the Easter Egg Hunter
April 10, 2010This year we spent Easter at Chris’s Aunt Sue’s house up in Deer Park, Washington. Mylo got lucky, and there was an Easter egg hunt there too (he’d had a stunning practice round at Grandpa Rick and Grandma Rhonda’s the day before). According to Chris, Mylo did a fantastic job for the two minutes he was interested, and then after that, the water-filled sandbox was just too interesting for him to handle!
Helpin’ Daddy
April 6, 2010More than anything, Mylo loves to help Daddy in the garage. He insists on being out there when Chris is working, and if he’s not allowed because Chris is using a hand saw (or some other dangerous item), he either sits screaming inside the kitchen door, or drags a chair over so he can see out the window in the kitchen door.
This particular day, Mylo was “helping” Chris put up shelves in the garage so he could better organize his work area…give a 20-month-old a hammer and some shooting glasses and you’ve got one happy kid in my house!
